Line Side Printing for AI Shipment

Line Side Printing is a shipping order fulfillment tool that counts parts, automates label creation and industrial printing, and completes AI-powered shipment verification.

Minimizing Human Intervention and Eliminating Miscounts

With State-of-the-Art Visual Verification.

Automating Order Fulfillment Process for B2B

One of the most frustrating activities in the Order Fulfillment process is the packing process. It’s a process that’s largely manual, which opens the door to human error. Those errors can lead to customers receiving the wrong quantity of product or even the wrong product altogether. Acclimate Technologies saw the need for alternative ways to validate the quantities being shipped which also minimizes human involvement (and the eventual human errors).

Line Side Printing with Microsoft’s Vision Artificial Intelligence

Our Line-Side Printing tool is a new way to count the actual number of units in a shipping container. It leverages Microsoft’s Vision Artificial Intelligence to accurately calculate the number of products or parts in a container. Additionally, it uses multiple other ways to count parts including visual quantity calculation, scale using weight, vibration value, and parts variance calculation.

How Does Line-Side Printing Work?

Multiple Ways to Count Parts for Easy Packing and Shipping

Line-Side Printing (LSP) is an extension to our Tressel™ shipping workflow product. Our tool counts parts using various ways for easy and accurate packing and shipping.

Visual Quantity Calculation

It uses Visual Quantity Calculation to estimate the number of parts in a container based on what the system detects in the image. It gives operators an additional way to verify shipment contents before a label is printed.

Vibration Value

It uses Vibration Value to reduce weight fluctuations that can be introduced by excess noise and vibration in the surrounding environment. In busy packing stations, small disturbances can affect scale readings, so this method adds another layer of accuracy.

Parts Variance Calculation

It also uses Parts Variance Calculation to account for slight weight differences between individual manufactured units. Even though these differences are usually minor, they can add across larger shipment quantities, making it harder to rely on weight alone.

Features Beyond Counting

One-click label printing

Generates shipping labels with minimal input.

Pallet/case search

Lets the user look up past cases and pallets and review product breakdowns and activity history.

Repack build

Supports repacking a container using the build from a prior container.

End-user history tracking

Shows which shipments a user worked on and what actions were taken.

Serial number hold

Allows serialized units to be placed on hold so they cannot be shipped.

Barcode verification / serial indexing

Helps verify labels are printed correctly and keeps serial numbers in sequence

Reduce Packing Errors

Line-Side Printing helps your teams catch mistakes before orders leave the dock. By validating shipment quantities at the packing station, it reduces the risk of sending the wrong count or the wrong product. Our tool is helping your business in several ways, including:

AI Validated Shipment Quantities Before Labels Print

The tool checks quantities before a label gets printed, adding an important quality control step to the order fulfillment process. As a result, it ensures that the packed order matches the shipment details, lowering the chance of shipping errors.

Minimize Manual Counting and Rework

Manual counting slows down packing and creates more opportunities for human error. Line-Side Printing reduces that dependence by streamlining the verification process and cutting down on rework. It means you also save money on labor and work fixes.

Improve Accuracy in B2B fulfillment

B2B fulfillment often involves larger orders, mixed parts, and stricter accuracy requirements. This workflow helps teams ship with greater confidence, improve consistency, and reduce costly corrections.

FAQs

Everything you need to know about Line-Side Printing.

AI shipment verification uses cameras and image analysis to inspect what was packed, count the units, and compare that result against the expected shipment details before the order leaves the dock. In Line Side Printing, that means the system helps validate quantities at the packing station, so errors can be caught before labels print.

Yes. AI shipment verification is most effective when it is built into a shipping workflow rather than used as a standalone tool, because that lets teams verify, label, and route shipments inside one process. For Line Side Printing, it is part of the broader Tressel shipping workflow product, which means verification is tied directly to packing and label printing.
